2025 Christmas with San Miguel School

On Saturday, December 13, Food For Friends hosted a holiday meal for the families of San Miguel School in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood. The families set up and decorate the gym, creating a festive and welcoming space for the celebration. Lee ’n Eddie’s catered the meal.

A special thank-you goes to our dedicated volunteers, the Chicago Valkyries Rugby Team, Olson, and Oscar, who together served more than 200 plates. The team has been an important part of serving the community, consistently showing up with energy, and a true commitment to making a difference.  The volunteers greeted families with warm smiles as they served the meal, spreading holiday cheer throughout the event. With holiday music playing in the background, families gathered to enjoy the meal and the spirit of the season.

The families expressed heartfelt appreciation, thanking the volunteers for their time and for the delicious food. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to share this holiday celebration and provide a meaningful meal to the community during this special time of year.
