On November 15, 2023 Food For Friends partnered with the Feed the Hungry Program at New Faith Missionary Baptist Church located on 8400 S Halsted St, Chicago, IL to sponsor a hot meal for 100 people as well as provide them with dry foods.
This time around, Food For Friends was able to donate 125 turkeys. During this event, we were able to give away 125 turkeys and canned goods to those within the Auburn Gresham Community. There was a lineup of people beginning at 9am to partake in this joyous occasion. This generous donation ensured that families in need could enjoy a festive Thanksgiving meal. This was the very first time that New Faith has been able to give away turkeys and because of this it did not only provide nourishment, but also fostered a sense of community and shared joy during the holiday season.
This was a very successful event that was received well within the Auburn Gresham Community. Everyone was filled with gratitude and appreciative for this act of kindness. This continues to show the works of Food For Friends as we continue to support those who are in need in the Chicagoland area.
