FOOD FOR FRIENDS provided a luncheon for 120 men at the Ewing Annex Hotel on Clark Street in downtown Chicago on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
The volunteers were Derek from Lee and Eddys Catering, Barb Opsahl & Dan Herzog from FOOD FOR FRIENDS. The men were served delicious, pulled bbq chicken sandwiches on brioche buns, generous portions of mac & cheese, a side dish of hot corn chocolate chip cookie and a bottle of water. Many men lined up for seconds we had well attended, great fellowship with the men at the Annex today.
Dan opened up the dinner with a short message from the Bible of hope from the book of Ephesians. We are very grateful to Mike Bush at the Annex hotel for allowing us to come and serve meal to bless the men and be present in our community.
