Friday, June 25, 2021, Food for Friends distributed ready to eat hot meals to the Fellowship Housing families for a virtual graduation ceremony. Four families graduated from the Fellowship Housing program and have savings in the bank, no debt and are on their way to owning their own home.
Meal boxes were provided by Lee ‘n Eddies. The meal boxes consisted of baked chicken, pasta marinara, mac and cheese, salad, mixed vegetables, rolls and chocolate chip cookies. The recipients were very happy and so grateful. Each received a verse and flyer from Food For Friends.
Due to the pandemic the distribution was drive thru. It started to drizzle, however the weather cooperated.
As the moms approached the parking lot Barb greeted them and instructed the moms to park as the meals were loaded into the cars. Additionally FH staff provided games, a vase of flowers, and other items for the virtual event. The families went home and watched the virtual graduation ceremony together.
Special Thank you to Sue, Barb, Dan Veles of Lee and Eddie's Catering, and the Fellowship staff for their involvement. It was truly a joyous and blessed event.
