On Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, Food For Friends partnered with Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church, Pastor Darryl Williams, for their very first Thanksgiving blue bag event.
Prior to the Turkey Give-Away, the Church held a Thanksgiving Food Drive collected canned and dry goods. A frozen Turkey, a case of water and a blue bag full of food items were provided to 60 families. This was truly an amazing event. All the families were grateful.
Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church located at 1400 S. Kolin Ave in the West Garfield Park Community. The church has been in operation for over 25 years on Chicago’s West Side.
