On Sunday. Nov. Nov. 12, 2023, Food For Friends partnered with Music Box Foundation for its sixth annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner.
Given the rising food prices, enjoying a Thanksgiving meal can be challenging for many Chicagoans. In an effort to alleviate this burden, Music Box Foundation organizes an annual dinner in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The volunteers prepared 200 to-go meals, which were distributed from inside our fire station. Guests were given a selection of turkey and stuffing wrap, green beans, yams, mac & cheese, and dinner rolls. We were blessed with a number of volunteers, who cheerfully served the community.
