On October 7th, 2022, Food For Friends had the pleasure of serving Fellowship Housing. Fellowship housing hosted a graduation dinner for the moms and their families. Moms in the program came together to celebrate the 5 moms that graduated. We had the blessing of listening to some of the graduating moms and be encouraged by their perseverance, hope, and faith.
Food for Friends served 2 delicious meals catered by Lee N' Eddies. The moms received a meal that included lemon chicken, pasta Alfredo, steamed broccoli, salad, and brownies. Their kiddos were served chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, corn, and chocolate chip cookies. Given we had left over food, some of our volunteers put together plates and delivered them to houseless individuals in Elgin.
A special thank you to our volunteers, Perla, Marco, Theresa, Paula, Nella, and Lizzy. They always show up with a big heart full of kindness and smiles that light up a room. We appreciate their time and work this evening.
