2025 Year-End Message

Dear Friends,

Looking back on the activities of 2025 it was a very busy and fruitful year of serving events for Food For Friends. We are so thankful to you for your generous donations and very grateful for our partnership in 2025!  

Sometimes I am asked, why does Food For Friends do what we do?  Why do we volunteer our time to raise money and feed houseless people, individuals, and families with food insecurity challenges?  The answer lies in our hearts; we feel led by God to help people in need right here in our communities, our neighbors. We believe sharing our faith in God and His love, Fighting Hunger and Giving Hope is the right thing to do.  In the Bible, Mark 12 vs 31 “Love thy neighbor, as thyself” commands us to do so.

This past year we helped hundreds of people from all ethnic backgrounds, including men, women, and children all over Chicago and suburbs.  We were blessed with new partners who reached out to hold events in their part of the city, and we continued with repeating events with partners of many years.  We are proud of the leaders and volunteers at each event, as they tend to people with less and meet them right where they are to fill their stomachs with a warm meal while listening to their hearts and spiritual condition. 

 As we turn to a new year, 2026, we have a vision and mission of serving and helping more people as the need continues to grow.  

Friends, will you please consider a monetary donation gift today?  The goal to serve more people in 2026 is achievable with your generous help. We can do this!  Also, it’s not too late to make a year-end financial gift to Food For Friends.
