The Food For Friends Golf committee wishes to thank all the golfers and sponsors who attended and or contributed to the event last Tuesday 9-14-21. What a difference in weather, last year we had rain early but thankfully Tuesday was a beautiful warm summer day and we had over 120 golfers along with 7 volunteers who were blessed with a great day of fun in the sun.
We started the day with welcoming the golfers who all seemed to appreciate getting outside after 20 months into COVID-19 pandemic, and getting caught up with friends and enjoying the activities. We had our traditional 9-11 Patriot Day Remembrance ceremony with Guest Speaker Mr. Patrick Maloney, along with the Bartlett VFW post 11081, Bartlett Police Honor Guard and Fire Dept. then sent off the golfers on their way.
Later in the afternoon we returned to once again having a banquet dinner, raffles and 2 guest speakers. The heartfelt messages given by two young ladies were the highlight of the day for many, based on comments from the golfers who expressed their gratitude for the speakers.
A final thank you once again to the volunteers, donors, golfers and sponsors. We are able to continue the work God has planned through FOOD FOR FRIENDS because of your generosity.
