On Saturday December 18th, Food for Friends had the opportunity to partner with Power In The Word Ministries purse drive event by providing a meal to SisterHouse.
SisterHouse offers a temporary home to women seeking recovery from substance abuse, providing them with a secure environment of respect, order and peace.
SisterHouse offers opportunities for growth in self-esteem and spiritual maturity while requiring accountability and responsibility. They help residents to achieve responsible independent living; empowering their women to participate constructively in society.
During this time Food for Friends was able to provide lunches for the women and one of the ordained ministers provided a small sermon and prayer. It was very heartfelt and the women appreciated everything we provided. So happy to be a part of this occasion!
