11.22.22 South Suburban PADS Thanksgiving Meal

On November 22, 2022 Food For Friends sponsored the South Suburban PADS organization with a meal for their residents. South Suburban PADS is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization working to prevent and end homelessness in the south suburbs of Chicago. South Suburban PADS was founded in 1990 by community leaders who were motivated by their faith and values to help people overcome homelessness. Their inspiring vision called up community volunteers to provide Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS). Their efforts helped open the first church-based emergency shelters just in time for Christmas.

Today, their legacy endures as thousands of people volunteer every year to continue providing shelter, meals, affordable housing and services to help people overcome homelessness and build brighter futures.

This event took place at the Travelodge in Harvey, IL. During this event we were able to feed 75 men, women, and children. This was our first time volunteering with this organization and it was an honor. Everyone was very grateful for our support. This continues to show the works of Food For Friends as we continue to support those who are less fortunate within the Chicagoland area.
